Every day when I wake up to Indie’s face I wonder: How did I handle life’s adventures before having her? She makes me happier, healthier and fitter. But owning an active dog breed doesn’t come without its challenges. Indie is highly intelligent, motivated, and impossible to wear out. Therefore, I have to choose energy-burning activities that both of us can participate in. Wether we’re walking, hiking or just playing fetch in the backyard, DOOG performance dog gear has a big impact on how we enjoy the outdoors.
From my experience, shopping for gear can be more exhausting than actually getting up and doing something with your dog. To help you spend more time outside together, I’ve created a short list of my favorite Indie tested and approved products from DOOG:
Moisture wicking collar
Above: Neoprene Dog Collar – Pluto, starting at $8.99
Indie needs a collar that keeps up with her activities and this one does not disappoint! I feel good about her wearing it all day and night because it’s made of soft neoprene. It’s also very washable (often necessary after a day of fun with Indie) and dries quickly, drawing moisture away from Indie’s skin.
Reflective Gear
Above: DOOG Leash – Lassie, starting at $17.99
There never seems to be enough hours in the day. For the busy equestrian like myself, or when I’m wanting cooler temperatures, walks with Indie sometimes fit best in the early morning or later evening hours. Reflective gear is a must to ensure drivers know we’re there in those low-light conditions.
Floating fetch toy
Above: The Stick Family Fetch Toys, starting at $9.99
Indie loves playing fetch with real sticks, but “Elwood” is a fabulous substitute because it has the appearance of a stick without the worry of splinters. Plus it has glow in the dark eyes and floats in water.
