I’ve been holding onto a section of tail hair from my heart horse for years, waiting for the right jewelry designer to make a special resin keepsake from it. My connection with Odie was unique and no horse could replace him. So I wanted to create a piece of jewelry that reflects me and the relationship we had. Enter Philadelphia fine custom jeweler, Christine Alaniz Designs.
Immediately after I was introduced to her work by my friend Mary, I knew Christine was the one for the job. Her accessories exude elegance, novelty, and vintage charm. The biggest problem was narrowing down my choices into one piece.
With my input in the making process, I was guaranteed a one-of-a-kind memento and a long lasting personal adornment. I wanted something that nobody else had and Christine was great at creating exactly that. Little did I know that my fiance was simultaneously working with her on a custom engagement ring (obviously we both liked what we saw)!
My resin horsehair earrings turned out even better than I imagined! Brought tears to my eyes when I received them–to be holding a tangible reminder of Odie feels a bit like time-traveling. Every time I look at my earrings it’s as if he is nickering from heaven. These are definitely pieces I will cherish forever.
And the earrings are equally beautiful even if one doesn’t know the deep sentiment.
Christine was fantastic to work with and the process was seamless. I am so grateful to her attention to detail and passion for what she does. Everything was perfect, from the experience to the finished product. Will definitely be ordering more custom equestrian jewelry from Christine Alaniz Designs (I have to use self-control to keep from buying all of the things) and suggesting to friends. Can’t wait to see what else she makes!
