Last year Paperchases & Petticoats won ‘Best Unconventional Pet Blog’ at the BlogPaws 2017 Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards. This year, Paperchases & Petticoats was once again nominated for the ‘Best Beyond Paws Pet Blog’ category…and won!
So I’m now the proud owner of a 2nd super shiny (and surprisingly weighty!) glass trophy:
I also was awarded a $400 food donation to an animal shelter of my choice.
I had the privilege of attending the 2018 Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards (sponsored by Hill’s) on April 20 – a fabulous event designed to celebrate the amazingly diverse talents of the pet blogging community.
About The Event
The BlogPaws 2018 Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards was hosted at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Kansas City, MO. As this was my first official pet blogger event, I wasn’t sure what to expect! It featured 3 days of education, networking and memories. The event culminated with a Red Carpet, sponsored by Chewy, on the last evening.
The Presentation
And then it was on to announcing the winners of the awards. I waited with anticipation for the ‘Best Beyond Paws Pet Blog’ category to be announcement (altogether there were 13) and was totally blown away when my name and blog was called. Each winner received a customized glass trophy, followed by a quick photo with the announcer.
In case you’re wondering – yes, I had to give an acceptance speech! But I did okay, according to my mom who watched it live on Facebook.
When the ceremony was over, there was time to enjoy tacos with a complimentary beer and chat with fellow pet bloggers.
Thank You!
So, that rounds off the Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards for 2018. A big thanks to BlogPaws for organizing such an inspiring event. I’d also like to say thank you to all my loyal followers and supporters online, everyone who nominated Paperchases & Petticoats, and to the judges for picking my blog as the winner! It feels great to have one’s efforts recognized and appreciated!
From the outset, I’ve always aimed to offer something a bit different. I never wanted to be ‘just another horse blog’. Above all else, I want this blog to be a positive place where we can discuss trending topics, get a little style inspiration and generally feel good about our purchases. It’s not something I can do on my own so your feedback and comments are always greatly appreciated and, of course, enjoyed and read by everyone else as well.
You can read more about the event on the BlogPaws conference page here.
And if you’re thinking of entering next year’s awards, GO FOR IT!
