Equine Artist Of The Month: Kelsey Hamer

Kelsey Hamer - Hamer & Clay

Confession: I’ve never bought a Christmas ornament! Each one I own was either given to me by a family member or made as a craft in school, Girl Scouts or 4-H. While some of these ornaments are purely decorative, I’m more drawn to those on our tree that hold meaning. So I was thrilled to come across Hamer & Clay, where every custom ornament is handmade by Kelsey Hamer and fashioned after your most adored pet.

Since I’m obsessively in love with my horse, I find Kelsey’s art an adorable way to celebrate Dexter or to use as a sweet memorial for the heart horse I’ve lost.

Sometimes it’s a challenge to find the perfect gift for the people on your list who seem to have it all. Kelsey’s ornaments are the perfect solution for gift-giving because each is sculpted by her to craft an original piece of art! They turn your Christmas tree is beautifully transformed into an art gallery.

Kelsey is an amazing artist and adds such a personal touch to her service. The attention to detail is phenomenal. From individual coat markings and buckles on tack to shine on tall boots, I’m so impressed with her work. It is obvious the amount of care and effort dedicated to each piece–artistically rendered and infused with passion. All offered at a great price for such quality!

The amount of talent Kelsey has speaks for itself. She captures the spirit and personality of her subjects in such a perfectly whimsical way, bringing what she sculpts to life. What a beautiful likeness! These ornaments are almost too nice to be in a box 11 months of the year. (Or in the case of my family, 10 months!)

I fall more in love with Kelsey’s clay art each year! A custom ornament of Dexter will be the highlight of my tree this Christmas.
